As an aspiring School Library Media Specialist I have a desire to help children, teachers and caregivers make the most of their library experience. For the past year, I have been taking courses at the University of Alabama: School of Library and Information Services and will hopefully May 2016! During graduate school I have realized that keeping up with digital trends is a vital part of being an effective librarian. A somewhat new concept: Digital Media Mentor is the focus of this blog. Follow along as I explore this concept and discover, evaluate, and discuss digital apps, websites, ebooks, etc.
When I am not working a project for graduate school, you can find me spending time with my family! My husband and I just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary and we have three amazing daughters, ages 12, 9 and 7. We enjoy camping, movies, fishing, hunting and playing games together. We recently purchased a vintage camper for $450 and we are in the process of renovating from top to bottom. Wish us luck! We have a mini chicken farm too! I also enjoy gardening, running, reading and learning about all things digital.
